How to Take Kratom: What You Should and Shouldn’t Do

January 12, 2021 by Speciosa Guide 2 Comments

How to Take Kratom

You may have purchased your very first batch and wondering how to take kratom to reap the best results. And even if you’ve been taking kratom for some time now, knowing what you should and shouldn’t do can make the results even better.

While the popularity of kratom and the amount of information available on it is growing, sadly, there’s lots of misinformation too. And it may be hard to find exactly what you’re looking for or information that you can trust.

We’re on a mission to make useful quality information on kratom easily available. Therefore, we’ve put together this guide to help you know what exactly you should and shouldn’t do when you take kratom.

How to Take Kratom: What You Should Do

1. Choose Which Kratom is Best for You

Kratom comes in four different vein colors. Three of them, red, white, and green, are natural, while the fourth one, yellow kratom, is achieved through a different type of processing.

  • Red vein kratom is often called “slow”. Its effects are soothing, relaxing, and analgesic. It’s excellent for pain relief, relaxation, dealing with insomnia, stress, and anxiety.
  • Some call white vein kratom “fast”. That’s because it’s energizing and uplifting. It’s great to increase energy and productivity as well as improve the mood.
  • Green vein kratom is a moderate midway between the above two. It has both stimulating and soothing effects. So, you can expect mild pain relief, increased energy, and calm focus.
  • Yellow kratom is also rather moderate with effects that are close to those of green and red vein.

In addition to those, you may also come across extracts, resins, and blends like Trainwreck kratom. We generally do not recommend those to new users because their dosage can vary or be imprecise and effects may be unpredictable.

Kratom possesses its qualities depending on the concentration of the alkaloids that it contains. This can vary according to the place and conditions in which kratom grows as well as the vendor.

Because of that, there may be differences between different strains of each vein. An example is Red Bali and Red Sumatra. While both are red strains, Red Sumatra is more invigorating while Red Bali is the most popular relaxing strain.

Pay attention to the qualities of each individual strain and choose what offers the effects that you’d like to feel. Keep in mind that when you get started, moderate strains can be a better fit for beginners, especially if you are looking for energizing effects.

Some vendors offer samples that you can order if you’d like to try kratom. You can start with those to see which kratom works best for you. This will prevent you from buying large amounts of kratom that you may not like.

2. Know How Much Kratom to Take

The effects of kratom can vary depending on what dose of it you take. You can use the breakdown below as a guideline:

  • 2-4 grams is the amount that can result in stimulating effects. We advise you to start with no more than 2 grams at the beginning. 1 gram may be even better as you can always add more if you have not reached the desired effects. 4 may be too strong and you may achieve soothing and sedating effects instead. Yet, it may be suitable for more experienced kratom users.
  • 4-6 grams is the dose to achieve pain-relieving and soothing effects. Once again, we advise beginners and those who are less experienced with kratom to go for 4 grams only, as anything above it can be sedating.
  • 6-8 grams would result in soothing, euphoria, pain relief, and may even put you to sleep. Note though that this may be too strong for some users. In general, we advise you not to go over 8 grams.

Whatever effects you’d like to achieve, we advise you to always start with a smaller dose and gradually build up to achieve the desired effects.

Keep in mind that your body’s ability to absorb the herb will depend on its composition and body fat percentage. So, if you’re an athlete or have a very low body fat percentage, we advise you to start with half of the suggested and gradually word out what your body responds to best.

Other factors such as whether you are taking your kratom on an empty or full stomach can also influence how your body responds to a dose. You will likely feel faster and more intense effects if you take kratom on an empty stomach. This, however, can be too much for a new user. Taking your dose with a little food can result in smoother effects.

3. Measure Kratom Accurately

While it may seem easy to simply take a spoon and eye your dose, we strongly advise you to not do that. Depending on how much you put into it and how fine the powder is, the amount can greatly vary. You can take a completely different amount of kratom every time.

By measuring and taking the wrong dose you can achieve different results and may even experience kratom side effects.

But that all can be easily avoided if you measure your kratom dose accurately.

To do that, invest in a digital scale with a 0.01-gram sensitivity scale. A regular kitchen scale won’t be as sensitive. You can easily get one at a local store or online (like the one below) for less than 20$.

  • 0.01g Digital Pocket Scale

Knowing exactly how much kratom you take will also allow you to accurately track your kratom intake. If you start experiencing kratom side effects, this can help you pinpoint exactly what is causing it.

4. Stay Hydrated

Some kratom users may experience constipation after taking kratom regularly for an extended period of time. To avoid that, make sure you drink plenty of water.

Reduce or cut out sugary and caffeinated drinks as these may further dehydrate you. Also, include plenty of fiber-rich food into your diet such as fresh fruit, vegetables, wholemeal bread, brown rice, and similar. Magnesium supplements may help too.

Don’t rely on taking laxatives as they also can seriously dehydrate you if you don’t drink enough water. If you absolutely need a laxative effect, include foods into your diet that have a laxative effect. Some examples include prunes, oat bran, flax seeds, chia seeds, kiwi, and kefir.

Coffee also has a laxative effect. Yet, you may not want to resort to it or reduce your dose if you are taking the stimulant strains of kratom.

5. Keep Your Kratom Tolerance Low

It is possible to develop kratom tolerance, especially if you take the same strain for prolonged periods of time. However, there are ways to make sure that does not happen to you.

First of all, do not take kratom every day. Take a few days a week off. Preferably if they are in a row. That will allow your body to reset and get the alkaloids out of your system.

Rotate kratom strains instead of always taking the same one. Normally, you’d want to mix greens or whites with reds. Take a different train a few times a week, but avoid taking more than two strains on a single day.

6. Start Taking Kratom on Your Days Off

From personal experience, we know that each individual body can react differently to different strains and amounts of kratom. Therefore, if you’re completely new to kratom or you are starting with a new strain you have never tried before, it’s best to do so on a day that you’re off or don’t have any important business to tend to.

If you don’t know how your body will respond to kratom or a specific vein or strain type, don’t take kratom before you drive.

The reason for that is that you likely will go through some trial and error until you discover what works best for you. And until you do, this may help you avoid any unpleasant situations.

How to Take Kratom: What You Shouldn’t Do

1. Take Substances that May Interfere with Kratom

While kratom is safe, mixing it with other substances may not be. As a matter of fact, the deaths that the FDA or CDC attributes to kratom are actually caused by other substances. Not kratom itself.

Sadly though, because of their activities against kratom, there are limited studies on it and the use of other substances with it.

Therefore, there are a few that we advise you to stay away from while you take kratom. These include drugs and alcohol.

If you take prescription medicine, ask your physician if it is safe to take it together with kratom or mitragynine, one of the kratom’s most potent alkaloids.

2. Take the Same Strain Every Day

Some users discover a strain that they really like and take it on a daily basis as they would any other supplement. However, it’s not the best approach to how to take kratom as it’s easy to develop tolerance in the same way you would develop tolerance to coffee.

Kratom tolerance manifests in the need to take a larger dose of kratom to experience the same results you had at the beginning. That will require you to use more kratom and spend more money.

Taking the same strain every day is the fastest way to developing tolerance. Though, it can be avoided by simply making small changes in how you take kratom.

As described above, taking days off and rotating strains are some ways in which you can do so.

3. Buy a Large Bulk without Trying a Sample First

Knowing how to take kratom properly is one thing, how it interacts with your body is another. As a natural substance, taking the same dose of the same kratom strain can produce slightly different effects in different people.

For example, some take green vein to gain extra energy while others feel more relaxed after it.

The only way to know how exactly your body will respond is by actually trying it.

So, instead of buying in bulk right away, try samples and smaller packages first. Don’t be afraid to experiment with a few different strains to see which one gives you the results that you want.

4. Drive

Even if you are taking the stimulating strains, it’s best to avoid driving after taking kratom. At least until you have established your dose, know how your body reacts to kratom and how long its effects last.

If you’re taking the slow strains, we advise you to not drive altogether. Kratom may relax you so much that you may become sleepy thus risking falling asleep when driving.

And even if you take the fast strains, you may become sleepy when kratom effects begin fading.

5. Take Cheap Kratom

How to take kratom isn’t the only thing that matters. It’s also the quality of the kratom you take.

While cheaper prices are often viewed s bargains, don’t treat kratom the same way. Instead of a bargain, go for quality.

The reason for that due to the FDA’s moves against kratom. Despite being legal, kratom isn’t regulated.

That means that there are no standards that vendors need to adhere to in order to be allowed to sell kratom. Eventually, it all comes down to what each vendor values and cares about.

And some vendors care about their profits more than they do about the users’ health. That results in importing low quality, fake, or contaminated kratom.

To avoid purchasing bad or fake kratom, carefully choose whom you buy it from. Read through reviews and customer testimonials. Check their website and what content they have on it. What do they care about?

Is their kratom fresh? Is it tested for contaminants? Does it seem like they know what they are talking about? Can you trust them?

If anything feels off, it may be best to move on and look for another vendor.

If you’re looking to save some money, instead of choosing cheaper kratom look for vendors that source their kratom directly from vendors. Their kratom will be cheaper, but not because of lower quality. They will not deal with a middleman who would be charging extra thus making the kratom retail price go up.

6. Take Kratom on an Empty Stomach

From personal experience, we advise you to take kratom after having some food in your stomach. At least until your body gets used to it or you know that it does not bother you. Otherwise, kratom may upset your stomach and you may not feel your best.

Taking kratom on a full stomach may also not be the best idea. Your body will take much longer to digest the food and your dose,  resulting in slower and less pronounced effects. So, wait until 30 min or an hour have passed after a meal before you take kratom.

Alternatively, you can take kratom with a small snack, yogurt, or mix it into a smoothie.

Rotating Kratom Strains: Why and How to Do It?

June 23, 2020 by Speciosa Guide Leave a Comment

Rotating kratom strains

If you’ve purchased your kratom strain of choice for the first time, you may think that, as with other herbs, you’re good to go for the long term. And that’s precisely what many beginners usually do. Well, not really how kratom works.

While at first, it may seem like there is no issue with consistently taking the same strain, over time you may notice that the effects are not the same as they once used to be. This is the beginning of kratom tolerance.

To combat that, many simply increase the dose, discovering that it only solves the problem for some limited time, after which they get into the cycle of weakening effects and continuously upping their kratom dose. After a time, kratom is no longer working.

Does any of that sound familiar?

We’ve got some good news for you! Regardless of where you are, there is a fix for your problem.

If your kratom tolerance is really high, the best option is to temporarily quit kratom and let your body flush out the accumulated alkaloids. That’s because while your body eliminates most alkaloids daily, some of them still remain in your system.

If you take kratom daily and more than once, this amount builds up, preventing you from feeling the effects. A break from kratom can reverse that, yet to will depend on your body and the intensity of your tolerance how long that should be.

The best way, however, is to keep kratom tolerance at bay. It will allow you to take kratom long-term without needing to take indefinite breaks.

One of the most effective forms of doing this is by rotating kratom strains.

Best Kratom Quiz

What Is Kratom Rotation?

Kratom rotation or rotating kratom is taking a different kratom strain each day. So, in essence, you would buy several kratom strains and alternate between them. Ideally, you should also take a few days off each week to allow your system to get rid of any excess alkaloids.

As a result, if you do both rotate kratom and take regular day-long breaks, tolerance should not be an issue, at least not for a very, very long time.

Why Is Rotating Kratom Good?

When you consistently take one and the same strain over and over and over again, this results in this strain becoming stagnant. There is even a term or that – Stagnant Strain Syndrome. That is kratom tolerance that results from continuously taking a single strain.

While kratom tolerance can eventually develop even if you take different strains, especially if you don’t take any days off, it usually takes longer to develop it if you don’t only take the same strain.

Just like anything else, your body will simply become used to it. For instance, if you eat your favorite dish for each meal every day, you will eventually end up not enjoying it as much. You can also develop tolerance to the main compound in the cousin of kratom – coffee. Caffeine tolerance is rather common in regular coffee drinkers.

The same happens with exercise. If you perform the same type of exercise every day, your body will eventually get used to it, and it will no longer be as beneficial as it once was. Therefore, exercise programs alternate between different exercises to make sure you do not reach a plateau.

An added benefit of rotating kratom is getting a wider range of benefits of this beneficial herb. Since there are many types of kratom, each strain comes with its unique set of alkaloids and beneficial properties. Rotating kratom strains will allow you to experience more of what kratom has to offer.

Now you see why kratom discount bundles and variety packs are so popular!

How Many Strains Do You Need to Rotate Kratom?

While this is a personal matter, and it may feel different for everyone. However, you should at least have three strains to start with. This will allow you to have three days in between taking the same strain, allowing your body ample time to reset from the same combination of alkaloids.

Yet, if kratom in your life is to stay, aim to rotate five to seven strains for the most beneficial effects.

Which Kratom Should you Rotate?

That is actually completely up to you and the effects that you are looking for. There is no magic bullet. We advise you to first make a list of the effects that you are looking for and proceed by finding the strains that deliver those.

Then, it’s best that you try those and see how your body responds. We are all different; so, the effects won’t be the same with every person. Some vendors offer free kratom samples for a small shipping fee and may add new samples with your order. So, you can try out different kratom strains and see which ones are best for your lifestyle.

As you try different strains over time, you’ll be able to settle on the strains that deliver the best effects.

Tips When Rotating Kratom

1. Rotate Kratom Vein Types Too Not Just Strains

Keep in mind that you should not only rotate strains, but also vein types. So, if you take Red Bali for pain relief, consider supplementing that with Green Maeng Da or Green Malay. Or if you take White Borneo for energy, try alternating it with a green, a yellow, and, perhaps, a faster red, like Red Sumatra.

2. Measure Each Strain Individually

Since you will be taking different kratom strains and even vein types, you need to make sure that your dosage for each is accurate. Fast whites will require a lower dosage than moderate greens and yellows and even lower than slow reds.

Therefore, it is important to know exactly how much of each strain you need to experience your desired effects. Taking inadequate doses can lead to increased kratom tolerance and unpleasant side effects, such as nausea and vomiting.

3. Keep a Kratom Log

Keeping a kratom log can be an extremely beneficial practice to ensure that you take the right strains and the right doses of each respective strain.

You can also take note of how you are feeling and make informed adjustments in case your dosage is inaccurate, and you aren’t feeling the way you expected.

Keeping a kratom log can also help you notice immediately when your tolerance may start to develop. This way, you’ll be able to immediately make the changes needed – take a break, swap strains, use kratom potentiators to ensure that your tolerance doesn’t get out of hand.

Do you rotate kratom strains? Which is your favorite combo of strains and vein types? Share that to inspire other kratom lovers!

Which Is the Best Way to Take Kratom? (And Which Is Not)

May 26, 2020 by Speciosa Guide Leave a Comment

How to take Kratom

Due to its numerous beneficial properties, kratom is a staple in the lives of about 5 million Americans, and this number only keeps growing. If you have decided that you, too, would like to benefit from this herb, you may be confused about the best way to take kratom.

After all, neither packaging nor kratom websites have instructions on it. And what’s the deal with “burning kratom”? Should you really burn it?

Sadly, institutions such as the FDA have an issue with kratom. Therefore, it is not regulated and vendors can’t state certain things such as how to take kratom

But that’s why we are here. Our mission is to make sure that more people know about the benefits of kratom and can make smart and informed buying (and consuming) decisions.

So, let’s look into different methods and which of them is the best way to take kratom.

7 Best Ways to Take Kratom

1. Kratom Tea

One of the most popular ways of taking kratom is brewing kratom tea. If prepared correctly, kratom tea can potentiate the effects of kratom. Heat and lemon both have the capacity to boost kratom effects. Moreover, you can add raw honey to sweeten it, which also has numerous beneficial health benefits, or try different kratom tea recipes.

Lemon and honey or another kratom sweetener of your choice can also help mask its bitter taste. So, it will be more enjoyable to consume it.

You can take kratom tea both hot and cold, and you can also take it with you if you have a flask or travel mug.

The key to making high-quality kratom tea is making sure that you simmer it rather than boil. This will help to activate kratom alkaloids rather than destroy them.

The downside of kratom tea is that it requires time to prepare it. You will need roughly 30 minutes to prepare everything and brew the tea. So, if you are in a hurry, this may not be the best method for you.

2. Toss and Wash

Toss and wash is one of the simplest ways of taking kratom. All you need to do is measure your dose, scoop that into your mouth, and wash it down with a drink of your choice to remove the aftertaste. This could be water or juice.

Kratom powder can stick and clump to the sides of your mouth and your tongue. To get rid of that, swoosh your drink of choice around your mouth as you would mouthwash before you swallow it down.

The advantage of the toss and wash method is that it is straightforward and quick. It also takes effect rather fast. Unfortunately, it can be rather unpleasant to taste and trigger a gag reflex.

Best Kratom Quiz

3. Kratom with Juice

This method is simple as well and can help you mask the taste of kratom. All you need to do is mix your kratom dose with some juice. Orange juice is one of the most popular kratom user choices. However, others prefer grapefruit juice instead.

Keep in mind that grapefruit can interact with certain medications such as cholesterol drugs. So, if you are taking any, make sure to ask your doctor if it is OK with you to drink grapefruit juice.

In addition to that, opt for freshly squeezed juices whenever possible. Fresh juices have more vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients, whereas store-bought juices often have added sugar. Juice, in general, has a high glycemic index since it has fiber and pulp removed from it. So, you should be careful if you have diabetes.

4. Kratom with Yogurt

Kratom and yogurt is another beneficial combination. Since kratom constipation tends to be a common issue among kratom users, yogurt can be beneficial to get things going (and leaving your digestive tract.)

Yogurt contains probiotics which can boost gut microbiota. Yogurt is also rich in protein and calcium which is good for your bones.

It’s best that you opt for natural yogurt. Flavored yogurt usually contains lots of added sugars and other additives. If you’d like to improve the taste, try honey and fruit instead.

5. Kratom Smoothies

Another way of consuming kratom and getting additional nutrients is by mixing kratom into your smoothies. This can allow you to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables as well as make kratom more palatable.

Consider making kratom smoothies from fruits like bananas, apples, and pineapple as well as from greens. You can mix in cucumbers, celery, kale, and other greens and veggies. By adding peanut or almond butter, you can make your smoothies creamy and rich in protein.

Flax and chia seeds are another beneficial ingredient. They contain beneficial vitamins and minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Moreover, they are also rich in fiber and can help you ease kratom constipation.

6. Kratom Capsules

If you can’t tolerate the taste or consistency of kratom or would like to take kratom on the go, kratom capsules can be a good option for you. They are rather discreet and easier to transport and consume than any kratom drink.

You can both purchase as well as make kratom capsules at home. Since kratom capsules require more materials and manpower, they are more expensive than raw powder. Therefore, making kratom capsules by yourself can be a more economical option in the long term.

Keep in mind that kratom capsules take longer to take effect. The stomach needs to break down the casing of the capsule to reach the powder. This results in a more gradual release of the alkaloids into the system. Due to that, a number of people report feeling the effects of kratom not as strong as they would be after consuming kratom in drinks or doing toss and wash.

7. Cooking with Kratom

While not a popular method of consuming kratom, you can experiment with simple recipes such as energy balls or muffins.

If you choose to do so, you should carefully measure all ingredients to ensure that the dose you get is accurate. Otherwise, you may end up overdosing kratom or not experiencing the effects that you expect.

Ways of Taking Kratom You Should Avoid

Kratom Extracts

While in theory, kratom extracts or tinctures are a convenient form of taking kratom, the risk of taking an excessive dose or developing kratom tolerance is much higher than with kratom powder. That’s because measuring a dose accurately becomes a lot harder.

Therefore, it’s best to avoid or be extremely cautious with kratom extracts, especially if you are a beginner.

Kratom and Alcohol

While some people like taking kratom with alcohol, in most cases that’s a bad idea. There is no scientific evidence to justify that it is safe. Moreover, alcohol consumption, especially in high doses, can be harmful to one’s health and aggravate any health conditions you may experience.

Alcohol also distorts one’s perception which can lead to taking inappropriate kratom doses.

Smoking and Vaping Kratom

First of all, smoking and vaping aren’t the best thing you can do to your body and health. While vaping is a less harmful alternative, it isn’t necessarily healthy.

When it comes to kratom, smoking and vaping it is simply a waste of the beneficial herb. Most of the kratom will be burnt rather than produce any significant benefits. This is different with kratom alternatives like marijuana which requires heat to activate beneficial kratom.

Heat can indeed potentiate kratom, which is why simmering kratom tea is beneficial. However, the heat produced by smoking and vaping is too high. It will destroy kratom alkaloids and burn the product.

The Bottom Line

There is no right or wrong way to take kratom. Therefore, it’s best that you try a few methods to discover which one or ones suit your needs and lifestyle best.

And most importantly, always make sure to buy high-quality kratom from a trusted kratom vendor. Since it’s a raw botanical product, there is a risk of it being contaminated or adulterated, especially if it’s not properly handled or tested.

What do you think is the best way to take kratom? What do you like best about it? And what are you not that happy about?

Should You Take Kratom on Empty or Full Stomach?

May 12, 2020 by Speciosa Guide Leave a Comment

Take kratom on an empty stomack or full stomach

The benefits of kratom are diverse, and so are the needs of those who take the herb. Therefore, some may prefer kratom in the morning or during the day while others may need it in the evening. So, the question is, what do you do with food? Do you take kratom on an empty stomach? Or should you eat something along with your kratom dose?

Taking Kratom on an Empty Stomach

Many kratom users are huge advocates of taking kratom on an empty stomach. Some may even go long stretches of time without consuming any food to ensure that it does not interfere with kratom.

Let’s find out if that’s for you.

Benefits of Taking Kratom on an Empty Stomach

Just like going to the grocery store first thing in the morning can help you avoid crowds and get through the checkout faster, taking kratom on an empty stomach can result in a faster onset of kratom effects.

Since there is no food in the stomach, it allows your body to start metabolizing kratom almost instantaneously. Therefore, you are likely to feel faster and more prominent effects.

A number of kratom users swear by consuming kratom on an empty stomach as they experience weaker effects if they take kratom with food.

The same occurs with certain medications. Prescription medicines like ampicillin do not work as effectively if they are taken with food. Moreover, certain foods like grapefruit juice, leafy greens, or other foods high in vitamin K, as well as bananas and other potassium-rich foods can interfere with how the medication is absorbed and affect the body.

If you would like to take kratom on an empty stomach, you can do that first thing in the morning. If you prefer taking kratom later during the day, do so about 2 hours after a big meal or 30 minutes to 2 hours before a meal.

The timing is rather personal and can vary based on the specifics of your body and how it interacts with kratom. However, in general, many kratom users prefer to wait until the full effects set it, which averages around 30 minutes and only then take some food.

If you are new to taking kratom on an empty stomach, try experimenting with different wait periods after your meals as well as different meal sizes. For some, a small snack 30 minutes after a kratom dose is enough. Others may go for a few hours without food and have a solid meal then.

Drawbacks of Taking Kratom on an Empty Stomach

Yet, not everyone can stomach kratom on an empty stomach. It may upset the stomach causing gastrointestinal discomfort, kratom stomach pain, or even nausea.

We’ve observed this to be especially true for people with low body fat percentage and fast metabolism, as well as those who are new to kratom.

Taking Kratom with Food

If taking kratom on an empty stomach is not benefiting you, then you may want to look into taking kratom with food.

While not everyone agrees unanimously, for some people consuming food with kratom brings more benefits.

Benefits of Taking Kratom with Food

Firstly, taking kratom with food can prevent kratom stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting. This is especially true with potent kratom. Since alkaloid concentration is high, not every stomach can handle it. So, even if you gain potent pain relief or an energy boost, nausea can make your kratom experience miserable.

When it comes to food and meal sizes, it’s best to experiment and find out what your body responds to best. For some, mixing kratom in yogurt or a smoothie may be enough. Others may need a small snack such as a banana or a handful of nuts before they take kratom.

Some actually state that kratom effects are stronger for them with food.

In general, it’s best to opt for foods that are light and easily digestible. This can provide support for the stomach and prevent unpleasant effects, yet not dilute the effects of kratom.

Drawbacks of Taking Kratom with Food

Many report feeling that their kratom dose is weaker if they consume food with it. Some even state kratom effects diminish by half or even more.

In addition to that, the risk of developing kratom tolerance can increase if you take kratom with food. Especially if you choose to up your dose to compensate for weaker kratom effects. We strongly advise that you avoid doing that. That’s because food may dilute kratom and make its absorption slower, but the concentration of alkaloids is still there regardless.

As a result, you might end up not experiencing kratom effects and developing kratom tolerance at the same time, which can make the diminished effects even weaker.

Should You Take Kratom Capsules on an Empty or Full Stomach?

While many prefer kratom capsules due to ease of use and not tasting kratom, the capsule casing acts as a barrier that needs to be broken down first for the body to metabolize kratom. This can occur gradually, making the overall kratom effects weaker.

So, if you add food to the equation, this can slow down the breakdown and metabolism of kratom even further, making your dose feel weaker or nonexistent. So, you may feel that kratom is no longer working for you.

What Should You Do?

Taking kratom on an empty stomach or a full one is a preferential thing. While the former works for some people, others find the latter a more comfortable and beneficial alternative.

Therefore, it’s best that you have an open mind and try a few approached to discover what your body prefers.

Do you prefer taking kratom on an empty stomach? How long do you wait before having a meal? Or do you like consuming kratom with food? If so, what food do you like best? Do you take it with or before your kratom dose?

Can You Take Kratom Daily?

February 4, 2020 by Speciosa Guide 2 Comments

Take Kratom Daily

A common concern among kratom users or those willing to try the herb is whether they can take kratom daily. Many people choose kratom as a replacement for prescription medication, and it provides them with pain relief that boosts their wellbeing and helps them function through the day. For them, going without kratom may be torture.

The kratom tree belongs to the coffee family of plants. Therefore, taking kratom daily is akin to taking coffee daily. A small amount can be beneficial and should not cause any issues. Yet, too much can lead to a tolerance buildup requiring you to take a higher dosage each time.

However, if you are mindful and responsible with your doses, you should be fine. Think about it. Prescription medications such as prescription opioids have a lot more side effects and risks associated with them as well as a high death due to inappropriate use, yet doctors prescribe them for daily use.

On the other hand, kratom does not have the respiratory depression that opioids do. That’s due to its different molecular structure. Kratom 8 Factor Analysis shows that kratom’s respiratory depression and abuse potential are so low in comparison with opioids that they are not enough to cause concern.

Nonetheless, irresponsible kratom use can lead to kratom tolerance and needing to take higher doses. That can end up requiring larger investment from you, and that can negatively affect your budget.

Keep in mind the fact that every person is different. Therefore, what may work for one person may not necessarily work for another. Different factors, such as health conditions, age, medications you may be taking, can determine whether taking kratom daily works for you or not.

How to Take Kratom Daily?

If you would like to take kratom daily, such as in the case of chronic pain or condition, it is crucial to keep a few things in mind so that you get the best out of your daily dose of kratom and your financial investment in the herb.

1. Take Your Doses Approximately at the Same Time

Keeping routines when it comes to kratom intake is essential. It takes approximately 24 hours for our bodies to eliminate kratom alkaloids. Because of that, you should give your body enough time to do that before you take your next dose.

So, if you take Red Bali an hour after work, try doing the same on each day.

2. Take the Same Amount

Make sure not to up your dose if you aren’t feeling the same effects. While alkaloids may be weaker, there are still there. So, a higher dose will mean that there are more alkaloids that your body needs to eliminate, and you’ll run out of kratom much sooner.

To avoid that, take the same amount. Keep in mind though that this amount will differ for each strain. So, if your dose of Green Maeng Da is 2 grams, then take 2 grams each time you take Green Maeng Da. However, if your Red Bali Dose is 6 grams, then you should take that amount of kratom each time.

Unfortunately, not all kratom batches will have the exact same potency. So, you may receive a package that has much weaker kratom than your previous order. If that occurs consistently, it may be beneficial for you to look into other kratom vendors.

3. Measure Your Dose Accurately

While using a spoon may seem more convenient, there is no guarantee that you take the same dose. You can easily get a much higher dose if you scoop a more heaped spoon. Doing so consistently, you may end up building your kratom tolerance without being aware of it.

To prevent that from happening, use a sensitive digital scale to accurately measure your dose each time and take the same kratom dose daily.

4. Rotate Strains

Since kratom effects diminish sooner than it takes for your body to eliminate kratom alkaloids, you may be willing to take a few doses of kratom every day. In that case, make sure to vary strains. Since each strain has a different alkaloid makeup, you will be less likely to develop a buildup.

5. Take Breaks

Ideally, you should take kratom 4-5 days each week and take at least a day or two off. Sometimes, you may need to qu for a short period of time. If that would reduce your quality of life, consider looking into kratom alternatives such as akuamma seed, CBD, or kava for the days you don’t take kratom.

None of the kratom alternatives will provide the exact same effects. However, you can find an alternative that provides the closest effects for the results you are looking for.

6. Take Magnesium Supplements

Magnesium not only works as a kratom potentiator but also helps you lower kratom tolerance. Moreover, magnesium has plenty of other health benefits, such as improving bone and cardiovascular health, reducing anxiety, improving sleep quality, and more. Therefore, taking kratom and magnesium can provide you a wide variety of benefits.

Signs of Kratom Tolerance

The first sign of developing kratom tolerance from taking kratom daily is weaker peak effects. You may still feel that kratom works great, but it’s not quite the same as it used to be. Instead of upping your dose, take a few days off.

What If Kratom Is Not Working Anymore?

There are various reasons why kratom may not be working anymore. These include:

  • High kratom tolerance,
  • Kratom losing potency due to not storing it properly,
  • Low-quality or fake kratom,
  • Taking kratom with other substances that cancel it out,
  • Taking kratom on a full stomach.

Depending on what your reason is, you may need to adapt your doses, choose a different vendor,  or make a few changes to your lifestyle.

Would you like to take kratom daily? What effects are you looking for? And what’s your biggest concern?
