5 Kratom Drink Recipes that Are Not Kratom Tea

Kratom has numerous benefits and can be taken in a variety of ways. Kratom tea is one of the most popular of them. You can make kratom tea by simply simmering kratom in hot water.

Yet, not all kratom tastes the same. While some vendors offer kratom powder that doesn’t have a strong taste, in most cases, kratom is not that pleasant.

If you take kratom every day, you can also get bored with drinking the same thing, which is also normal.

So, you can also go a bit more creative and try more complex kratom tea recipes. These will help you mask the flavor and try something different.

However, these aren’t the only ways of taking kratom. You can make a variety of drinks such as smoothies with it.

Let’s take a look at a few and see how you can make your kratom experience a lot more pleasurable, varied, and delicious.

    Kratom Chocolate Milk Recipe

If you love chocolate and have a sweet tooth, kratom chocolate milk can be a great option for you. Many users have reported that chocolate makes the taste of kratom less obvious.

That is because milk can neutralize the tannins in the kratom thus reducing its bitterness.

The fat in the milk makes it easier to consume kratom on an empty stomach. It also helps your body absorb kratom alkaloids better as they are fat-soluble.

Making kratom chocolate milk is relatively easy. All you need for it is:

    • your dose of kratom powder,
    • 1 cup milk (add a bit more if you choose to boil the milk)
    • a tablespoon of cocoa powder,
    • a tablespoon of kratom sweetener (optional),
    • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • chocolate syrup (optional).

Feel free to swap regular milk for any non-dairy milk of your choice.

You can opt for cold or hot kratom chocolate milk. When properly done, it’ll bring out the alkaloids in the kratom powder. If you want to go for the former, simply combine all ingredients and use a blender to mix them together. You can add a few ice cubes if you’d like your kratom chocolate milk to be colder.

To make hot kratom chocolate milk:

    1. Pour milk into a pot and bring it to boil. Add a bit more than one cup because some will evaporate as you boil it. Make sure to keep an eye on it since milk can boil over.
    2. Reduce the heat until the milk simmers. Add the kratom powder and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
    3. Remove from heat and strain.
    4. Add the remaining ingredients and blend everything together.

Most kratom users prefer to add Nesquik because it tends to mix better with water. However, you can use any other cocoa powder of your preference.

Kratom and Coffee Protein Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

If you like taking kratom in the morning with or before your coffee, this could be the smoothie for you. Coffee is another kratom potentiator. Yet, be careful about measuring your kratom dose properly especially if you want to take fast strains with this smoothie.

The ingredients that you’ll need for this kratom smoothie are:

    • the dose of kratom powder that you usually take,
    • 1 shot espresso,
    • 1 cup milk,
    • 2 frozen sliced bananas,
    • 1 tablespoon chocolate powder,
    • 1 tablespoon peanut butter,
    • chia seeds (optional).

To make this kratom smoothie, combine all ingredients (except for the chia seeds) in a blender. You can add a cube or two of ice if you’d like. Mix until the mixture is smooth. Then, pour into a glass and add the chia seeds.

If you dislike or are allergic to peanut butter, you can swap it for any other nut butter. Almond butter and cashew butter are good alternatives. You can use protein powder instead, as well.

Orange and Yogurt Protein Kratom Smoothie Recipe

This smoothie is great for breakfast or as a snack when you’re not yet ready for a full meal. Moreover, orange juice is one of the kratom potentiators. So, you’ll get an added benefit of having stronger and longer kratom effects.

Orange juice also has high vitamin C content that can strengthen your immune system.

    For this smoothie you’ll need:

    • your kratom dose,
    • 1 cup orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed for most benefits),
    • 1 cup Greek yogurt,
    • a scoop of vanilla or chocolate-flavored protein powder (optional),
    • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon,
    • 1 ripe banana

Place all ingredients in a blender and mix them until they are smooth.

Banana and Blueberry Kratom Smoothie Recipe

Blueberries are packed with nutritional benefits.  Yet, they are low in calories. They are also rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Some studies show that blueberries can reduce the damage to our DNA and even slow down aging and protect us against cancer.

To make this kratom smoothie, you will need:

    • kratom powder of your choice,
    • 1 cup milk or Greek yogurt
    • 2 ripe bananas
    • 1 cup frozen blueberries
    • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract,
    • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (optional).

As with other kratom smoothies, mix all ingredients in a blender until everything is smooth.

    Green Kratom Smoothie Recipe

Kratom is already green and very beneficial. How about adding some more green superfoods to make it even more potent? Why not, right?

Green smoothies have gained much popularity in recent years due to their high nutrient content. Especially when it comes to greens. Smoothies contain 3-5 servings of fruits and vegetables in a glass or two. This makes it easier for us to intake more vitamins and minerals.

Smoothies can also be a healthy breakfast or snack option.

So, you’ll need the following ingredients to make this kratom smoothie:

    • your daily dose of kratom powder,
    • 2 cups of baby spinach and/or kale,
    • 2 ripe frozen bananas, cut into slices
    • 1 cup pineapple,
    • 1 cup mango,
    • ½ lemon or lime juice,
    • 1 ½ cups water,
    • fresh ginger (optional).

You can swap water for pineapple juice if you prefer that. You can also easily vary the ingredients by replacing them with any other fruit or vegetable of your choice. Some options are celery, apple, as well as cucumber.

However, many advise against adding coconut water. It tastes good on its own and is very nutritious and rich in electrolytes, but may have a peculiar taste mixed together with kratom.

To make the smoothie, place spinach and water or juice into a blender and blend until you get a smooth liquid. Then, add kratom and the remaining fruit and keep blending until everything is well mixed together.

  • How to Make Kratom Tea

    How to Make Kratom Tea

One of the reasons why kratom is so popular is because there are different ways of taking it. People add kratom to their protein shakes, smoothies, or yogurt, follow the Toss and Wash method, and they also take kratom capsules.

But it’s also very popular to take kratom in tea form. In fact, kratom is primarily used in tea form, as this method is still number one among the majority of kratom consumers. Kratom tea is also very popular in Southeast Asia, where a lot of people also consume kratom by chewing the leaves.

    Why Kratom Tea Is Popular

The reason for this is quite simple. For the vast majority of people, tea is the easiest way to take kratom. Also, kratom in tea form tastes much better. But most importantly, kratom tea retains all of its medical properties and isn’t acidic.

    The Benefits of Kratom Tea

If we compare other forms of kratom, such as powder and liquid, there are some really unique benefits of consuming kratom in tea form. And the reason for this lies in its alkaloids.

Heat can act as a kratom potentiator. The alkaloids found in kratom leaves get released much easier if you expose them to heat. That’s why making kratom tea actually enhances the release of alkaloids. And when you drink the tea, it will reach your bloodstream a lot faster. Thus, the effects will be felt sooner.

Yet, you need to be careful about using too much heat as that can cause alkaloids to lose their properties. But, rest assured, we tackle this point later on when we describe the process of how to make kratom tea!

Here are the top five benefits of consuming kratom in tea form.

    1. Kratom Tea Boosts Your Energy and Stimulates Your Mind and Body

Kratom tea will invigorate your body and clarify your mind. When you’re sleepy or feeling too tired for ordinary tasks and activities, have some kratom tea.

You will be surprised how quickly the effects are felt. For many users, kratom tea is a much better pick-me-up than coffee.

    2. It Puts You in a Good Mood

Consuming kratom tea enables your body to release endorphins and create a feeling of joy and happiness. Your anxiety levels will drop and you will feel more relaxed and at ease.

    3. It Eases Kratom Ingestion

If you’re experiencing abdominal cramps or other problems due to ingestion, kratom tea can help a lot. It serves as a natural remedy, bringing your body back to balance and restring your metabolism.

    4. Kratom Tea Reduces Certain Kinds of Pain

Compared to other ways of intaking kratom (such as Toss and Wash), kratom tea is not the best solution for all kinds of pain relief. That’s because it doesn’t give you the strongest of effects.

However, it definitely does have beneficial effects, especially if you’re suffering from a slight cold, headache, or menstrual aches. Consuming kratom tea on a regular basis can definitely help your body feel a lot better.

    5. Kratom Tea Improves Your Complexion

If you’re suffering from dry skin, kratom tea can aid you with that too. Consuming kratom tea will help your body balance its pH level and, as a result of this, your skin will be less dry.

Also, your skin will recuperate much faster if it’s sun-damaged. Kratom improves your circulation which, in turn, makes your complexion fresher.

    How to Make Kratom Tea

Making tea from kratom is really simple and practically anyone can do it.

There’s just one problem here. In general, people tend to not invest enough time in the preparation process. That’s why many people simply put kratom in a pot with water and boil everything together. However, that is not the best approach to how to make kratom tea.

We strongly advise you not to do this, because it will most likely lessen the beneficial qualities of the alkaloids. Heat is definitely good to bring them out, but too much heat can achieve the opposite effect.

Depending on how long you keep the heat up, it probably won’t destroy them altogether, but it will definitely “numb them down”. And then, the effects of the tea you get won’t differ much from any other tea.

So, make sure to set aside some time to make kratom tea. Approximately 20-30 minutes to prepare it and some more to drink it. It will make sure you’ll get stronger effects as well as make sure your tea doesn’t taste bad.

The best way is to fill your pot with water and once the water starts boiling, let it simmer, but not boil. Then you can add kratom to it and the simmering water will allow it to release alkaloids. Here are the exact steps of the procedure:

    1. Fill your pot with water and let it simmer.
    2. Measure the amount of kratom that you are going to use with a sensitive scale.
    3. When the water reaches a boiling point, turn the heat down so that the water simmers.
    4. Add the pre-measured kratom powder and let the kratom tea simmer for another 10 minutes.
    5. Once the mixture turns deep yellow or dark orange, remove your pot from the heat.
    6. Use a strainer to separate the residue from the tea liquid.
    7. Add some lemon and some sweetener if you’d like so.

    There are

As you see, the whole procedure is fairly simple and easy to do. Once your kratom tea is ready, you can add a sweetener or cinnamon, to reduce the bitter taste. It will be more pleasant to drink it when flavored. There are various kratom sweeteners that you can choose from. Some, like raw honey, can also provide you with additional health benefits.

Alsobefore you start heating the water (or even once the tea is ready), add some lemon juice to it. This will keep the kratom alkaloids intact because of the lemon’s acidity. Lemon and other citrus fruits act as kratom potentiators, too. It’s not a necessary requirement, but it does help a lot.

Enjoy your tea and wait for about thirty minutes to feel the first effects. This is the average time kratom tea needs to kick in. Though, some strains of kratom may take a shorter or a longer time.

    Conclusion

A lot of kratom users have said that, although kratom tea is great, it doesn’t give the best effects for reducing pain. It’s great when it comes to stimulation and relaxation, but pain relief is not what it’s best for. Of course, this may differ from person to person. Therefore, it’s best if you try and see for yourself.

Nevertheless, make sure that you know when and why you’re using kratom tea. If what you need is strong pain relief, it may not give you the best results. In that case, you may want to use a different method.

But if you want to enhance your mood and get an energy boost, kratom tea is excellent and it can easily become your method of choice.

  • Which Is the Best Way to Take Kratom? (And Which Is Not)

Which Is the Best Way to Take Kratom? (And Which Is Not)

Due to its numerous beneficial properties, kratom is a staple in the lives of about 5 million Americans, and this number only keeps growing. If you have decided that you, too, would like to benefit from this herb, you may be confused about the best way to take kratom.

After all, neither packaging nor kratom websites have instructions on it. And what’s the deal with “burning kratom”? Should you really burn it?

Sadly, institutions such as the FDA have an issue with kratom. Therefore, it is not regulated and vendors can’t state certain things such as how to take kratom

But that’s why we are here. Our mission is to make sure that more people know about the benefits of kratom and can make smart and informed buying (and consuming) decisions.

So, let’s look into different methods and which of them is the best way to take kratom.

7 Best Ways to Take Kratom

    1. Kratom Tea

One of the most popular ways of taking kratom is brewing kratom tea. If prepared correctly, kratom tea can potentiate the effects of kratom. Heat and lemon both have the capacity to boost kratom effects. Moreover, you can add raw honey to sweeten it, which also has numerous beneficial health benefits, or try different kratom tea recipes.

Lemon and honey or another kratom sweetener of your choice can also help mask its bitter taste. So, it will be more enjoyable to consume it.

You can take kratom tea both hot and cold, and you can also take it with you if you have a flask or travel mug.

The key to making high-quality kratom tea is making sure that you simmer it rather than boil. This will help to activate kratom alkaloids rather than destroy them.

The downside of kratom tea is that it requires time to prepare it. You will need roughly 30 minutes to prepare everything and brew the tea. So, if you are in a hurry, this may not be the best method for you.

    2. Toss and Wash

Toss and wash is one of the simplest ways of taking kratom. All you need to do is measure your dose, scoop that into your mouth, and wash it down with a drink of your choice to remove the aftertaste. This could be water or juice.

Kratom powder can stick and clump to the sides of your mouth and your tongue. To get rid of that, swoosh your drink of choice around your mouth as you would mouthwash before you swallow it down.

The advantage of the toss and wash method is that it is straightforward and quick. It also takes effect rather fast. Unfortunately, it can be rather unpleasant to taste and trigger a gag reflex.

    3. Kratom with Juice

This method is simple as well and can help you mask the taste of kratom. All you need to do is mix your kratom dose with some juice. Orange juice is one of the most popular kratom user choices. However, others prefer grapefruit juice instead.

Keep in mind that grapefruit can interact with certain medications such as cholesterol drugs. So, if you are taking any, make sure to ask your doctor if it is OK with you to drink grapefruit juice.

In addition to that, opt for freshly squeezed juices whenever possible. Fresh juices have more vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients, whereas store-bought juices often have added sugar. Juice, in general, has a high glycemic index since it has fiber and pulp removed from it. So, you should be careful if you have diabetes.

    4. Kratom with Yogurt

Kratom and yogurt is another beneficial combination. Since kratom constipation tends to be a common issue among kratom users, yogurt can be beneficial to get things going (and leaving your digestive tract.)

Yogurt contains probiotics which can boost gut microbiota. Yogurt is also rich in protein and calcium which is good for your bones.

It’s best that you opt for natural yogurt. Flavored yogurt usually contains lots of added sugars and other additives. If you’d like to improve the taste, try honey and fruit instead.

    5. Kratom Smoothies

Another way of consuming kratom and getting additional nutrients is by mixing kratom into your smoothies. This can allow you to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables as well as make kratom more palatable.

Consider making kratom smoothies from fruits like bananas, apples, and pineapple as well as from greens. You can mix in cucumbers, celery, kale, and other greens and veggies. By adding peanut or almond butter, you can make your smoothies creamy and rich in protein.

Flax and chia seeds are another beneficial ingredient. They contain beneficial vitamins and minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Moreover, they are also rich in fiber and can help you ease kratom constipation.

    6. Kratom Capsules

If you can’t tolerate the taste or consistency of kratom or would like to take kratom on the go, kratom capsules can be a good option for you. They are rather discreet and easier to transport and consume than any kratom drink.

You can both purchase as well as make kratom capsules at home. Since kratom capsules require more materials and manpower, they are more expensive than raw powder. Therefore, making kratom capsules by yourself can be a more economical option in the long term.

Keep in mind that kratom capsules take longer to take effect. The stomach needs to break down the casing of the capsule to reach the powder. This results in a more gradual release of the alkaloids into the system. Due to that, a number of people report feeling the effects of kratom not as strong as they would be after consuming kratom in drinks or doing toss and wash.

    7. Cooking with Kratom

While not a popular method of consuming kratom, you can experiment with simple recipes such as energy balls or muffins.

If you choose to do so, you should carefully measure all ingredients to ensure that the dose you get is accurate. Otherwise, you may end up overdosing kratom or not experiencing the effects that you expect.

Ways of Taking Kratom You Should Avoid

    Kratom Extracts

While in theory, kratom extracts or tinctures are a convenient form of taking kratom, the risk of taking an excessive dose or developing kratom tolerance is much higher than with kratom powder. That’s because measuring a dose accurately becomes a lot harder.

Therefore, it’s best to avoid or be extremely cautious with kratom extracts, especially if you are a beginner.

    Kratom and Alcohol

While some people like taking kratom with alcohol, in most cases that’s a bad idea. There is no scientific evidence to justify that it is safe. Moreover, alcohol consumption, especially in high doses, can be harmful to one’s health and aggravate any health conditions you may experience.

Alcohol also distorts one’s perception which can lead to taking inappropriate kratom doses.

    Smoking and Vaping Kratom

First of all, smoking and vaping aren’t the best thing you can do to your body and health. While vaping is a less harmful alternative, it isn’t necessarily healthy.

When it comes to kratom, smoking and vaping it is simply a waste of the beneficial herb. Most of the kratom will be burnt rather than produce any significant benefits. This is different with kratom alternatives like marijuana which requires heat to activate beneficial kratom.

Heat can indeed potentiate kratom, which is why simmering kratom tea is beneficial. However, the heat produced by smoking and vaping is too high. It will destroy kratom alkaloids and burn the product.

    The Bottom Line

There is no right or wrong way to take kratom. Therefore, it’s best that you try a few methods to discover which one or ones suit your needs and lifestyle best.

And most importantly, always make sure to buy high-quality kratom from a trusted kratom vendor. Since it’s a raw botanical product, there is a risk of it being contaminated or adulterated, especially if it’s not properly handled or tested.

What do you think is the best way to take kratom? What do you like best about it? And what are you not that happy about?

  • Rotating Kratom Strains: Why and How to Do It?

Rotating Kratom Strains: Why and How to Do It?

If you’ve purchased your kratom strain of choice for the first time, you may think that, as with other herbs, you’re good to go for the long term. And that’s precisely what many beginners usually do. Well, not really how kratom works.

While at first, it may seem like there is no issue with consistently taking the same strain, over time you may notice that the effects are not the same as they once used to be. This is the beginning of kratom tolerance.

To combat that, many simply increase the dose, discovering that it only solves the problem for some limited time, after which they get into the cycle of weakening effects and continuously upping their kratom dose. After a time, kratom is no longer working.

Does any of that sound familiar?

We’ve got some good news for you! Regardless of where you are, there is a fix for your problem.

If your kratom tolerance is really high, the best option is to temporarily quit kratom and let your body flush out the accumulated alkaloids. That’s because while your body eliminates most alkaloids daily, some of them still remain in your system.

If you take kratom daily and more than once, this amount builds up, preventing you from feeling the effects. A break from kratom can reverse that, yet to will depend on your body and the intensity of your tolerance how long that should be.

The best way, however, is to keep kratom tolerance at bay. It will allow you to take kratom long-term without needing to take indefinite breaks.

One of the most effective forms of doing this is by rotating kratom strains.

    What Is Kratom Rotation?

Kratom rotation or rotating kratom is taking a different kratom strain each day. So, in essence, you would buy several kratom strains and alternate between them. Ideally, you should also take a few days off each week to allow your system to get rid of any excess alkaloids.

As a result, if you do both rotate kratom and take regular day-long breaks, tolerance should not be an issue, at least not for a very, very long time.

    Why Is Rotating Kratom Good?

When you consistently take one and the same strain over and over and over again, this results in this strain becoming stagnant. There is even a term or that – Stagnant Strain Syndrome. That is kratom tolerance that results from continuously taking a single strain.

While kratom tolerance can eventually develop even if you take different strains, especially if you don’t take any days off, it usually takes longer to develop it if you don’t only take the same strain.

Just like anything else, your body will simply become used to it. For instance, if you eat your favorite dish for each meal every day, you will eventually end up not enjoying it as much. You can also develop tolerance to the main compound in the cousin of kratom – coffee. Caffeine tolerance is rather common in regular coffee drinkers.

The same happens with exercise. If you perform the same type of exercise every day, your body will eventually get used to it, and it will no longer be as beneficial as it once was. Therefore, exercise programs alternate between different exercises to make sure you do not reach a plateau.

An added benefit of rotating kratom is getting a wider range of benefits of this beneficial herb. Since there are many types of kratom, each strain comes with its unique set of alkaloids and beneficial properties. Rotating kratom strains will allow you to experience more of what kratom has to offer.

Now you see why kratom discount bundles and variety packs are so popular!

How Many Strains Do You Need to Rotate Kratom?

While this is a personal matter, and it may feel different for everyone. However, you should at least have three strains to start with. This will allow you to have three days in between taking the same strain, allowing your body ample time to reset from the same combination of alkaloids.

Yet, if kratom in your life is to stay, aim to rotate five to seven strains for the most beneficial effects.

    Which Kratom Should you Rotate?

That is actually completely up to you and the effects that you are looking for. There is no magic bullet. We advise you to first make a list of the effects that you are looking for and proceed by finding the strains that deliver those.

Then, it’s best that you try those and see how your body responds. We are all different; so, the effects won’t be the same with every person. Some vendors offer free kratom samples for a small shipping fee and may add new samples with your order. So, you can try out different kratom strains and see which ones are best for your lifestyle.

As you try different strains over time, you’ll be able to settle on the strains that deliver the best effects.

    Tips When Rotating Kratom

    1. Rotate Kratom Vein Types Too Not Just Strains

Keep in mind that you should not only rotate strains, but also vein types. So, if you take Red Bali for pain relief, consider supplementing that with Green Maeng Da or Green Malay. Or if you take White Borneo for energy, try alternating it with a green, a yellow, and, perhaps, a faster red, like Red Sumatra.

    2. Measure Each Strain Individually

Since you will be taking different kratom strains and even vein types, you need to make sure that your dosage for each is accurate. Fast whites will require a lower dosage than moderate greens and yellows and even lower than slow reds.

Therefore, it is important to know exactly how much of each strain you need to experience your desired effects. Taking inadequate doses can lead to increased kratom tolerance and unpleasant side effects, such as nausea and vomiting.

    3. Keep a Kratom Log

Keeping a kratom log can be an extremely beneficial practice to ensure that you take the right strains and the right doses of each respective strain.

You can also take note of how you are feeling and make informed adjustments in case your dosage is inaccurate, and you aren’t feeling the way you expected.

Keeping a kratom log can also help you notice immediately when your tolerance may start to develop. This way, you’ll be able to immediately make the changes needed – take a break, swap strains, use kratom potentiators to ensure that your tolerance doesn’t get out of hand.

  • Kratom Stories: Kratom Has Helped Becky Relieve Multiple Myeloma Pain

Becky Moore is a Tillamook, Oregon, resident. She is a terminal cancer patient who suffers from multiple myeloma.

    What Is Multiple Myeloma?

Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer that develops in plasma cells, a type of white blood cells created in the bones.

It is a painful form of cancer that causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow. They push out the healthy bone cells, making bones fragile. As a result, bones easily break and lesions develop inside the bones.

“I have been in pain for the last few years.” Becky accounts. “The war on opiates here has made it hard to get a prescription for pain medication. Even for a person with cancer. I know it is ridiculous but what can I do? I have tried mindfulness, yoga, steroid injections, and other things. But nothing worked.”

Pain medication that is commonly used to relieve cancer-related pain is also the very medication causing the opioid crisis in the United States. Due to it, there is a lot of stigma associated with prescribing opioid medication even to cancer patients.

It’s common for cancer patients to suffer from excruciating chronic pain. Nonetheless, every one in three cancer patients does not receive pain medication for their intensity of pain.

    How Did Becky Discover Kratom?

“One day, a friend of mine who has multiple sclerosis told me about this plant. She gave me some and told me to try,” remembers Becky. “That night my pain was excruciating, and I was in tears. I remembered the kratom my friend had given to me and mixed it with orange juice. I put in three teaspoons as my friend had directed.

Yet, kratom was able to help by providing potent pain relief.

“About thirty minutes later the pain was down from a 9 to a 1. It was a miracle.”

Becky proceeded by finding her perfect kratom vendor.

“I called my friend and she gave me the names of some reputable vendors. I tried several kratom vendors until I found the perfect one. Not too far away. I got to be friends with the owner. She herself had found kratom. She used to be addicted to opiates. After she found kratom, she was totally drug-free.”

    Why Does Becky Love Kratom?

According to Becky, kratom does not only relieve multiple myeloma-related pain. It has improved her quality of life and allows her to do tasks that she wasn’t able to perform before.

Becky shares: “The great thing about kratom is that I can live again. I still have pain but I can pick up my granddaughter, play ball with my grandson, help my mom in her garden and do other things. I CAN LIVE AGAIN! BECAUSE OF THIS PLANT!”

Because of the effects that Becky has experienced with kratom and the changes that it brought to her life, she wants to make sure that kratom remains legal and helps even more people.

“Please, this plant has changed thousands if not millions of people’s lives here in the United States. Without kratom, I would be bedridden or in such pain in a rest home. I want to continue my life without pain. I know that eventually, things will get worse but my oncologist says that could be years. Do not take this miracle away from us. I talk with people who use this every day like myself. They say the same thing. It has changed their lives for the better.”

    Kratom Legality in Oregon

At this time kratom is legal in Oregon, yet, it’s unregulated. A new bill that intends to regulate kratom in the state of Oregon, is currently under review. If Oregon Kratom Consumer Protection Act passes, Oregon-based kratom vendors will have to comply with regulations that will offer safer access to the herb across the state.

Nonetheless, there is much controversy about kratom across the United States. Many believe that it’s an opioid or a dangerous drug that provides a high as well as other effects that have nothing to do with kratom.

Therefore, stories like Becky’s are crucial to share to counter the mass of misinformation on kratom. Kratom is a life-saving herb and more need to know about it.

“Thank you for reading my story,” Becky says. “I hope whoever reads my story, will pass it on. Like I’ve said, there are millions of stories like mine here in the United States. Please let us keep our miracle!”

We thank Becky Moore immensely for the time and effort it took to share her kratom story with us. If you too have a kratom story that you’d like to share with others, please do so by filling out this form. • Best Strains of Kratom for Back Pain Relief

Best Strains of Kratom for Back Pain Relief

Back pain can significantly decrease one’s quality and satisfaction of life. If you struggle with it, you’re far from being alone. In fact, you’re in pretty good company.

Back pain is one of the most common reasons why people go to their doctor or miss work. Recent studies have revealed that almost 40 million Americans suffer from lower back pain.

That makes up more than a quarter of all workforce. However, researchers speculate that the number can be much higher because many either do not seek medical help or do not attribute their back pain to work.

Moreover, this research focused on lower back pain only, which isn’t the only area of the back where people experience pain. Because of that, the number of people whose lives are negatively impacted by kratom may be a lot larger.

    Causes of Back Pain

People experience back pain due to the way muscles, disks, joints, and nerves fit together or move.  It includes upper back pain, middle back pain, lower back pain. Yet, lower back pain can be the most bothersome and dangerous because the vertebrae in it are semi-fused together and it’s the least flexible part of the spine.

Some of the most common causes of back pain are:

    • injuries and accidents – falls, car accidents and similar can cause back pain. These can be especially serious if one suffers from osteoporosis and their bones are weakened;
    • strains and sprains – damaging the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that support the spine can also result in back pain. This can happen in accidents, while doing sports, or incorrectly and repeatedly lifting heavy objects;
    • sciatica – it’s caused by an issue with the sciatic nerve, a pair of long nerves that run from your lower back to the back of your legs. It can cause pain in the lower back as well as the leg, hip, and buttocks;
    • bulging discs – it’s usually caused by injury or wear and tear. The soft tissue between your discs bulges out and presses on the spinal nerves causing pain;
    • herniated discs – a more advanced version of bulging disks, it happens when the soft tissue between the discs slips out and causes discs to rub against each other;
    • degenerative disk disease – this usually affects older individuals when the soft tissue between their bones wears off and causes the disks to rub against each other;
    • spinal stenosis – it’s a condition when the spinal canal is narrower than it should be. This causes pressure on the nerves and the spine resulting in pain;
    • arthritis – joint inflammation that usually happens at an older age of from much wear and tear;
    • and more.

Your Lifestyle Can Cause Lower Back Too

Certain lifestyle choices and habits can also cause or aggravate back pain. These are:

    • smoking – it can damage the tissues in the back, weaken the bones, and reduce the flow of nutrients to the spine and hips. Studies show that smoking can even cause chronic back pain;
    • excess weight – it places additional strain on the spine;
    • lack of exercise – weaker muscles provide less support to the spine;
    • slouching while sitting down – doing so repeatedly weakens the core muscles and does not provide the support that the spine needs;
    • lifting heavy objects – especially if you tend to round your back while doing so or twist while you lift;
    • wearing high heels – it misaligns the pelvis causing the curve of the spine to change,
    • emotional state – if you experience lots of stress on a daily basis that too can manifest as back pain, especially in the upper back. Anxiety and depression can also make an impression that your pain is more severe.

Common Approaches to Back Pain Management

The most common back pain treatment methods are pain killers and pain medication. Depending on the condition, people who suffer from back pain may be also prescribed muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory drugs, and other medication.

People also opt for physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage, laser therapy, biofeedback therapy, and other non-pharmaceutical and non-surgical ways of treatment.

Why Use Kratom for Back Pain Relief

For centuries, kratom has been known for its pain relieving properties in the regions where it is indigenous to. In the mid-20th century, it even got banned in Thailand because it was so effective in managing pain without complications that it was interfering with opioid trade. And the taxes on the latter were profitable to the Thai government at the time.

Nowadays, millions of people across the United States resort to kratom for pain relief and other conditions. Many admit that kratom has saved their lives and helped them get off of opioids that are frequently prescribed to deal with pain.

  • Kratom for Cancer Pain Management and More

Kratom for Cancer Pain Management and More

Cancer is a disease that affects countless people across the world. Cancer patients frequently suffer from severe chronic pain, and many seek alternative cancer pain management ways.

    What Is Cancer?

Cancer is a class of diseases that occurs when cellular changes result in the division and growth of cells that become uncontrollable.

In a healthy body, all cells have a lifespan. Old cells die, giving way to new cells that function much more efficiently. Cancer cells lack this mechanism that tells them to die. Therefore, they keep dividing and do not die. Instead, they accumulate in the body forming tumors and use up the nutrients and oxygen that would otherwise be used by healthy cells.

There are many causes for cancer to develop. These include exposure to radiation as well as chemical and biological carcinogens.

The main risk factors are smoking, heavy consumption of alcohol, excessive body weight, poor nutrition, lack of exercise, and more. Cancer is also more common as people age, and those with a family history of cancer may have a higher predisposition to the disease.

There are also many types of cancer. The most common types are lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, and skin cancer. Lung, colorectal, stomach, liver, and breast cancer claim the largest number of lives.

Cancer is the second largest cause of death in the US. There are nearly 2 million new cancer patients each year in the country, with over 4 thousand patients being diagnosed each day.

    Common Cancer Treatment Methods

There are various cancer treatment methods. They focus on treating cancer to enable a person to live a normal life span. However, sometimes, it’s not possible. In such cases, treatment focuses on shrinking tumors or preventing them from further growing. The most common cancer treatments are:

    • Surgery
    • Radiation therapy
    • Chemotherapy
    • Immunotherapy
    • Stem cell transplant
    • Hormonal therapy,
    • And more.

While in some instances, one treatment method is enough, in many cases, more than one treatment method is needed.

Additionally, modern cancer treatment methods face many challenges, such as difficulty isolating cancer cells. Treatments, such as chemotherapy, can also affect healthy cells.

Therefore, cancer treatments come with many side effects. These include:

    • Anemia,
    • Gastrointestinal problems,
    • Hair loss,
    • Fertility issues,
    • Memory problems,
    • Problems concentrating,
    • Nausea and vomiting,
    • Sleep problems,
    • Depression,
    • Anxiety,
    • Pain,
    • And many more.

Cancer pain is widespread among cancer patients. It is due to cell damage, which can be a result of either the progression of cancer and it causing pressure on bones, nerves, and other organs, or cancer treatment. The most common treatment for that is pain medication, such as opioids.

    What Is Kratom?

A tropical Southeast Asian tree, kratom has been used for medicinal purposes for generations. Kratom leaves are rich in alkaloids. Two of them, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, are responsible for most of the kratom effects.

Can You Use Kratom for Cancer-Related Pain

Kratom has many beneficial properties. Depending on the vein and strain type of kratom, it can soothe severe painrelieve depressionanxiety, and stress, improve the mood, improve focus and concentration, and much more.

Therefore, kratom can be a beneficial alternative to traditional cancer pain management methods. Moreover, it can alleviate other symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and sleep issues.

Best Strains of Kratom for Cancer Pain Management

    1. Red Bali Kratom

Red Bali Kratom is the most popular, widely available, as well as affordable kratom strain. It is also one of the most long-lasting strains.

Red Bali Kratom has potent pain-relieving properties that can soothe cancer pain. It is also very relaxing and produces strong euphoria. Therefore, it can also boost the mood, aid with sleep problems, and relieve anxiety.

    2. Red Vein Thai

Due to high 7-hydroxymitragynine content, Red Thai Kratom is another potent pain-relieving strain. It also has sedating properties that can help relieve sleep-related issues.

    3. Red Vein Borneo

This red vein kratom strain has strong mood-boosting properties in addition to offering relief for cancer pain management. Therefore, it can also help those experiencing anxiety and depression.

    4. Red Vein Maeng Da

Rd vein Maeng Da Kratom is a potent pain-relieving kratom strain that can be effective for chronic pain resulting from conditions like arthritis and cancer.  It also has potent sedating properties and can relieve pain at night.

    5. Red Horn Kratom

Red Horn Kratom is a rare strain. The leaves of this kratom variety have horns, and kratom farmers believe that they have higher alkaloid content due to them. Keep in mind that many vendors may mix in unhorned leaves with the horned ones to make more sales using the popular name. So, you should only buy Horn Kratom from reputable vendors to avoid overpaying.

    6. Red Vein Sumatra

While most red vein kratom strains have sedating effects, Red Sumatra Kratom is energizing. As a result, it can boost the mood and provide additional energy for days when one may not feel as energized.

Precautions When Taking Kratom for Cancer Pain Management

Keep in mind, though, interactions with other medications, such as cancer treatment drugs, may be possible. None are currently known due to limited studies currently available on kratom. Nonetheless, you should consult your doctor before you start taking kratom for cancer pain management.

The immune system of cancer patients is already compromised. Therefore, if you take kratom for cancer pain management, make sure only to purchase it from a reputable and trustworthy vendor.

Kratom is not regulated in the USA by the FDA. So, kratom powder can become contaminated with substances such as salmonella. Without proper testing, this can lead to contaminated kratom reaching cancer patients.

Moreover, some manufacturers or vendors may add other substances to kratom to enhance its effects. These can be potentially dangerous, too.

Because of that, always make sure that you only buy pure kratom from vendors who lab-test kratom and are based in the states that have passed the Kratom Consumer Protection Act. If your state has not done it, consider online vendors from US states that have the KCPA in place, for example, the Nevada-based Kraoma.

  • What Is Kratom Hangover and How You Can Avoid It

What Is Kratom Hangover and How You Can Avoid It

Kratom has a great number of benefits and positive effects. Because of them, an estimated 3-5 million people in the United States use kratom to feel better.

Some of the most popular kratom benefits include pain, stress, and anxiety relief, as well as increased energy and focus. Yet, the list of kratom effects and benefits is actually much longer.

Despite these, it is also possible to experience kratom side effects although they are relatively rare and can be easily avoided. One of them is kratom hangover.

    Wait…what?

Yes, you read that right. It is possible to have kratom hangover. However, it’s generally very rare.

So, if you wake up feeling like you’ve had a wild night but didn’t actually have one, it’s possible that you are experiencing kratom hangover. The good news is that just like the other kratom side effects kratom hangover can also be easily prevented.

What Is Kratom Hangover and What Causes It?

Kratom hangover is a state caused by symptoms that are hangover-like. Users normally experience it a few hours after taking kratom.

Note that the symptoms are hangover-like. Kratom hangover is not the same as the hangover that you would experience after taking alcohol. It’s also milder than and not as unpleasant as alcohol hangover.

Alcohol-induced hangover is caused by inflammation, a drop in blood sugar, and dehydration. However, kratom does have the same effect on the body. It can dehydrate you, but it does not cause inflammation and blood sugar drop.

In most cases, kratom hangover happens if you take an excess dose of if your body is very sensitive to kratom. The latter may happen if you are a novice user and/or have very low body fat percentage.

It can also happen accidentally, for example, if you switch sellers and start taking kratom that is more potent without adjusting your dose accordingly.

Users are also more likely to experience kratom hangover after taking slow or sedative strains such as Red Bali.

This is because kratom in smaller doses causes stimulating effects and in larger doses – sedating effects. If you go straight for the higher doses or suddenly up your dose without letting your body adjust properly, it can be easy to misjudge how much kratom you actually need.

Sometimes, you may also experience kratom withdrawal if you abruptly stop taking it. You may experience something akin to what you may feel after abruptly stopping drinking coffee.

What Are the Symptoms of Kratom Hangover?

Users usually experience kratom hangover symptoms in the morning after taking a larger dose the night before. Note though that it’s not actually that common.

    Nausea and Stomachache

In the majority of cases, nausea that one may experience during a kratom hangover is rather mild. Yet, its strength will depend on the dose taken. It doesn’t normally last long.

Some users may experience kratom stomachache if they are sensitive to kratom and/or take it on an empty stomach.

    Headache

Another symptom you may experience is kratom headache. It is usually even rarer than nausea and mild rather than pounding as it may be after an alcohol hangover.

You may experience it if you are not hydrating yourself properly.

    Sleep Issues

Similarly to alcohol, kratom can cause sleep issues. While there is little scientific proof to back this up, these most likely happen because it disturbs REM sleep.

REM sleep and deep sleep are the most restorative parts of your sleep. Therefore, disturbing it could mean that your body isn’t getting as much rest as it normally would. The same effect can happen if you take too much coffee or certain medications. Alcohol too can affect it.

    Fatigue

Because of insufficient rest, you may also feel fatigued or lethargic. This is more typical after taking the slow strains and typically lasts for a few hours. But, you should be able to easily fix it by taking a cup of coffee or the fast strains of kratom.

However, we do advise you to stick with coffee as trying to cure kratom hangover with more kratom can cause alkaloid buildup in your system and contribute to you developing tolerance.

    Depression

If you suffer from depression, it is possible that you may feel even more depressed the next morning after taking an excess dose of the sedating kratom strains. For instance, you may be feeling apathetic or have an extremely hard time finding the motivation to get up or do anything.

If that happens, remind yourself that you are OK. That it’s simply your body responding to an excess dose of kratom.

It may also be a good idea for you to use the faster stains such as green, yellow, or white vein instead. They are less likely to enhance the symptoms of depression that the slow strains.

    How to Avoid Kratom Hangover?

    1. Start Small

If you are a novice kratom user, start with small doses. Even if you go for the sedating strains like Red Bali.

If you are looking for sedating effects, start with a lower dose. Then, keep adding half a gram or a gram every 30 to 60 minutes until you start feeling the desired effects. Keep note of how much you have added so that you can calculate the exact amount that you should be taking next time.

    2. Measure Your Dosage Properly

We’ve emphasized it before that eyeing your kratom dose is never a good idea. You can easily scoop a larger dose if you do not accurately measure it. Make sure you use a sensitive scale instead of regular kitchen scale to do so.

    3. Keep a Kratom Log

Another useful idea is to keep a kratom log. It can help you keep track of the dosage that you are taking. By doing so you can notice if you start developing kratom tolerance or what is causing side effects and kratom hangover if you experience them.

    4. Hydrate Yourself Well and Eat Regularly

Kratom can cause dehydration which may contribute to you experiencing kratom hangover. Therefore, it is important to drink plenty of water to avoid that. Not to mention that drinking plenty of water is beneficial for optimal health either way.

You should also keep eating regular meals and healthy snacks. These can help you metabolize kratom better.

    5. Take Quality Kratom

Make sure that you buy quality kratom. Don’t automatically go for the lowest price to save a couple of dollars. You may end up getting low-quality, adulterated, or even fake product if you opt for cheap kratom. So, you may be experiencing hangover-like symptoms, but it may not actually be kratom that’s causing them.

    6. Don’t Mix Kratom and Alcohol

Kratom and alcohol don’t go well together. So, it’s best to avoid mixing them. Alcohol is a depressant. Taken together with kratom, it can intensify kratom’s sedative effects. As a result, you are likely to feel nauseous and lethargic the day after.

How To Get Rid of Kratom Hangover?

If you find yourself in a situation when you experience kratom hangover, the best thing you can do is drink plenty of water. You may add a cup of coffee if you are feeling exhausted or lethargic.

Do, however, stay away from soda and make sure to drink an extra glass of water for every cup of coffee that you take. That’s because both soda and caffeine can further dehydrate you.

Have you ever experienced kratom hangover? What were your symptoms and how did you cope with them?

  • Best Way to Take Kratom: Powder, Capsules, or Extract?

Best Way to Take Kratom: Powder, Capsules, or Extract?

Kratom is a plant native to Southeast Asia. Before reaching the western countries, it was a part of the indigenous Southeast Asian culture for thousands of years. Kratom was even considered a folk medicine used as a stimulant.

Rural workers and peasants in Thailand and other countries chewed kratom leaves during hard and monotonous working days. It helped them stay alert and maintain a good mood.

Nowadays, the popularity of kratom in the west is growing. Even despite the FDA’s claims that it’s a dangerous drug.

Users choose it for pain, anxiety, and stress relief, as well as means of boosting their mood.

Kratom is available in powder form, capsules, as well as extract. Which one is the best way to take kratom? And which should you buy? Let’s take a look.

    Kratom Powder

Kratom powder is made by finely grinding dried kratom leaves. Farmers and harvesters pick kratom leaves and dry them either indoors or outdoors. The exact processing method depends on the kratom vein type.

    The Advantages of Kratom Powder

It’s the most widely available form that kratom comes in. You’ll likely be able to easily find your favorite vein type and strand.

In addition, the body can assimilate it quickly. As a result, you can experience its effects much faster than after taking kratom capsules. The onset of the results is also going to be more intense, and you will likely be able to feel when the kratom “kick in”.

Since manufacturers only need to pack kratom powder, it’s cheaper than kratom capsules or extract.

There are multiple ways in which you can take kratom powder. You can make kratom tea, or you mix it with water, juice, yogurt, smoothies, or even applesauce.

Is it the best way to take kratom, though? Let’s look at the disadvantages.

    The Disadvantages of Kratom Powder

The downside of taking kratom powder is that it tends to have a bitter taste and a specific smell. If you’ve ever tried matcha, it tastes like very strong matcha. Or strong over-steeped green tea. While there are people who don’t mind or even like it, many describe it as “horrible”, “disgusting”, or even “pungent”.

However, not every kratom powder is the same. Depending on the vendor, some powders will be more bitter while others will be a lot more tolerable and wouldn’t taste nearly as bad.

There are vendors who have selected kratom powders that do not taste bad at all.

While swallowing kratom powder, it can stick to the tongue or throat, having you feel the bitter taste for longer. Or you may simply not feel comfortable swallowing it.

Kratom powder needs to be measured and prepared before taking it. That makes it more difficult to use if you need to transport it, for instance, to work, gym, or if you are spending time outdoors. The easiest method is Toss’n’Wash, but even then, you need to measure your dose.

Another minus is that you need to measure and move it carefully. Or you risk spilling the fine powder everywhere. You’ll not only waste some of the product but will also need to clean it up later.

    Bowl of Kratom Capsules

    Kratom Capsules

Because of kratom’s peculiar taste and the need for preparation, people have sought easier ways of taking it. Therefore, a number of vendors offer kratom capsules in addition to the standard powder.

Kratom capsules come in 5 different sizes:

    • Size 000 –  each capsule contains 1 gram of kratom
    • Size 00 – each capsule contains 0.735 grams of kratom
    • Size 0 – each capsule contains 0.5 grams of kratom
    • Size 1 – each capsule contains 0.4 grams of kratom
    • Size 2 – each capsule contains 0.3 grams of kratom

    The Advantages of Kratom Capsules

First of all, kratom capsules are much more convenient to use than kratom powder. It’s easier to measure your dose if you know exactly how much kratom goes into each capsule. You also will not be making a mess as you would with preparing kratom powder.

Kratom capsules are much more convenient to transport. You can easily take them to work, on your day out and around the city, a hike, a holiday, and similar.

Since kratom capsules are much easier to swallow and there’s a barrier between the powder and your taste buds, you won’t actually taste the kratom. This can be helpful if you do not like it’s taste or the smell bothers you.

    The Disadvantages of Kratom Capsules

Kratom capsules are more expensive than powder. It takes extra time, resources, and manpower to create them, which results in a price increase. Also, not many manufacturers produce them.

Not every vendor will offer kratom capsules. Or they may not have every single kratom variety in capsule form. Likely, only the most popular strains. So, even if your go-to vendor has your favorite type of kratom, they may not necessarily have it available in capsules.

Since the powder is coated in the capsules, it takes it longer for the body to break them down and absorb. Because of that, it’ll take longer for you to start experiencing the results and the onset may also be much slower. Some users also report that they don’t feel the results at the same intensity.

Most capsules are made of gelatin. If you are taking a larger dose of kratom, then the amount gelatin and any other additives that the coating is made of may upset your stomach.

The coating may also contain chemicals you may not be aware of, such as substances you may be allergic to. To avoid that, purchase kratom capsules only from vendors whom you trust.

Depending on the material of the coating, kratom capsules may not be suitable for vegetarians or vegans. However, if you are one, you can also purchase kratom powder and make your own capsules at home using vegetarian or cellulose-based coating. It will also be much cheaper than buying ready capsules.

    Kratom Extract

Kratom extract is kratom in concentrated form. To produce it, experts brew crushed or powdered leaves for a long period of time. After most of the water evaporates, a thick paste that contains a strong concentration of the primary kratom ingredients is left.

This paste can then be further made into a concentrated powder, oil, tincture, or resin.

Kratom extracts are usually graded by a digit followed by “x”, such as 1x, 10x, 15x, or other. That indicated how much kratom was used to produce 1 gram of concentrate. For example, 10x means that 10 grams of kratom were reduced to 1 gram of kratom extract.

    The Advantages of Kratom Extract

As kratom extract is a concentrated form of kratom, you can take smaller and more powerful doses. You’ll experience the same results as taking kratom in power for, yet you’ll require a much smaller amount to achieve the same result.

If you’re taking kratom extract in liquid form, your body will be able to absorb it faster. So, you’ll experience faster results.

You can also use kratom extracts such as tincture and oil topically. For instance, you can make kratom soap or add it to cosmetics, such as home-made body lotion.

    The Disadvantages of Kratom Extract

The process of making the kratom extract is lengthy and pricy, and it needs experts to do it. That results in a much higher price.

Some users report coming across extracts laced with opioids and other substances. Therefore, if you do choose to use kratom extract, make sure you purchase it from a trustworthy and credible vendor. Do not go for the first most affordable option online. Also, check the content of the extract before you purchase it and make sure it is pure alkaloid extract.

While reviews on this vary, there is a number of users who report having developed tolerance to kratom extract much quicker than to kratom powder.

The potency of the extract will depend not only on its concentration, but also on what strain it comes from. Because of this, it can be hard to measure the appropriate dose of kratom extract that you should take.

Because of this, kratom extract also poses a greater risk of overdose.

    Other Types of Kratom

Apart from the types mentioned above, you can also find crushed kratom leaves. While less popular than kratom powder, it is available through some vendors.

If kratom powder has the stems and veins removed, crushed kratom leaves contain all parts of the kratom leaf. Because of this, the alkaloid content is different and some report it being stronger than kratom powder.

The downside is you don’t have as many options, because you can only use to make tea. However, if you are a kratom tea lover, this may be the right type for you.

Which Is the Best Way to Take Kratom?

To be completely honest with you, our choice is kratom powder. It’s easily available, contains pure kratom only, and, once you get the hang of it, is rather easy to use.

Yet, that’s the best way to take kratom for us. The type that best suits your needs and preferences will completely depend on you.

Kratom Potentiators: How to Enhance Kratom Effects

When you purchase kratom, you are interested in receiving an effective and potent product. One that is definitely going to achieve your desired results.

In addition to making sure you purchase it from a reliable vendor whom you can trust, there are natural substances that can even further enhance the potency of your kratom.

These can make your dose stronger as well as help it last longer. Plus, these are healthy substances on their own. Therefore, you can reap additional health benefits.

Why Do You Need Kratom Potentiators?

Using kratom potentiators can mean that you can take a lower dosage, yet receive the same results. This way you will be less likely to develop kratom tolerance.

Your kratom batch will also last longer, which means that you’ll save money in the long run.

Kratom potentiators can make kratom last longer than usual and may also help it to kick in faster. You’ll be able to experience the results sooner and for a longer duration of time.e

If you are taking kratom daily and have already developed tolerance, you won’t need to increase your dose to potentiate kratom effects.

This will lower the chance of you experiencing kratom side effects because of increased dosage.

What Can Enhance the Potency and Length of Kratom Effects?

You’ll easily find many of these in your cupboard. Or by simply paying a visit to your local grocery or health food store.

Below are 10 kratom potentiators of our choice. We’ve also included our favorite picks for some of these potentiators in case you’re looking for suggestions.

    1. Hot Water

Using your kratom with hot water (which is simply making kratom tea) can increase its potency.

Note though that most plant-based alkaloids are heat sensitive. Therefore, avoid using boiling water.

Instead, you can mix kratom in hot water. Turn the heat off after the water boils, let the bubbles settle, and then pour it over your kratom.

Alternatively, you can let you kratom powder or leaves simmer. You can achieve it by turning down the heat after the water boils. There will still be bubbles, but they’ll be much smaller and there will be less of them.

    2. Citrus Fruits

Are you taking orange juice or grapefruit with your breakfast? Then we have great news for you.

Citric acid found in grapefruit, oranges, lemons, and lime is another kratom potentiator. It can make your kratom dose stronger and have kratom effects last longer. There are several ways in which you can take it.

Firstly, you can mix kratom powder with grapefruit or orange juice. You can also drink a glass of orange or grapefruit juice after you take kratom, for instance, if you prefer the Toss and Wash method. Or you can add a slice of lemon to your kratom tea.

In addition to the above, citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin C. This can boost your immune system, prevent colds, and help your body absorb iron better.

    3. Tea

While some users prefer making kratom tea that only contains kratom (along with some sugar and lemon), others prefer mixing kratom with other teas.

There are a few different options for you and each has its own unique effects. These two are our favorite:

    • Chamomile Tea. It has a mild and pleasant taste and can help you to calm an upset stomach and relax. Use it in combination with the slow strains, such as red vein kratom, to achieve more relaxation and be able to get to sleep easier and faster. People who use chamomile tea as a kratom potentiator report feeling effects for a much longer period of time.  Check out our kratom and chamomile tea recipe.
    • Green Tea. A powerful antioxidant on its own, it can give your kratom dose an extra energy kick. It’ll work best with faster strains like green and white vein kratom. Make sure not to brew your green tea too strong as it tends to be rather bitter. Be sure to buy high-quality loose leaf tea. Same as kratom, not all green tea is the same. Avoid using tea bags as they primarily contain tea dust rather than actual leaves and therefore will result in the lowest quality of tea.

    4. Coffee

A number of users like mixing kratom with coffee to potentiate their dose. Coffee and kratom together can increase your focus and alertness and give you an extra energy boost.

You can brew them together or take them separately. Some users even Toss and Wash kratom with coffee. That depends on your personal preference. Make sure you drink plenty of water as both can dehydrate you.

Yet, we do not recommend everyone to do that, especially if you’re less experienced and taking lower doses of kratom. Kratom and coffee both come from the coffee family. You may become overly agitated and jittery.

Alternatively, you can take coffee as a kratom substitute on days that you’re not taking kratom.

    5. Valerian Root

It is a herb used for sleep issues, as well as managing stress and anxiety. A number of kratom users like to use it as a kratom potentiator.

Taken together with slow strains of kratom, it can enhance its relaxing, sedative, and pain killing effects.

You can take valerian root pills or tincture, as well as steep valerian root tea and mix it with your kratom dose.

    6. Watercress

An aquatic leafy green vegetable that grows near streams and streams, watercress is rich in vitamins and minerals. For instance, it contains more Vitamin C than oranges and more iron than spinach.

It can prevent colds and even some types of cancer. Watercress can also improve cardiovascular, eye, brain, and bone health among other benefits.

Some users report that taken as a kratom potentiator, it can make the effects last longer. For others, it also intensifies kratom effects.

Watercress is available in supermarkets, health food stores, and online. You can buy fresh watercress (that you can make a salad with), dried watercress, as well as watercress capsules.

    7. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is a type of chili pepper that’s moderately strong and is used in spicy dishes. It has numerous benefits for the digestive system and can help to improve kratom absorption.

Users report feeling a faster come-up and more potent results from their kratom dose. Yet, it does not affect the duration of kratom as much as citrus fruits do.

You can mix some cayenne powder with kratom or take cayenne capsules. Use it sparingly if you can’t tolerate spicy foods well.

You may experience uncomfortable burning stools after taking larger amounts of cayenne. Eat fiber-rich foods and hydrate yourself well to avoid that.

    8. Turmeric

A plant of the ginger family, turmeric is a bright yellow spice and one of the main ingredients in curry. Turmeric also acts is a kratom potentiator.

Turmeric improves kratom absorption. It also enhances the strength and length of kratom effects and can help reduce kratom tolerance.

Mix turmeric powder with your kratom powder to boost its effects. Start by adding a small amount first and gradually increasing it up to a teaspoon with your dose.

Apart from potentiating kratom, turmeric has a number of other health benefits. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Turmeric can also improve cardiovascular and gastrointestinal health, reduces cholesterol, and can even help in preventing cancer.

To experience all those in addition to the kratom effects and benefits, add a pinch of black pepper to the mix. Black pepper increases the absorption of turmeric.

    9. Cat’s Claw

Cat’s Claw is a powerful herb with anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and pain-relieving benefits. It can also help with various gastrointestinal disorders.

Taking Cat’s Claw together with kratom can intensify and prolong its effects. Avoid taking it though if you’re on blood thinning medication or if you have a surgery scheduled in the next two weeks.

    10. Magnesium

Magnesium is a go-to kratom potentiator for many users. It can aid with kratom tolerance and relieve constipation that kratom causes.

Magnesium is a beneficial substance on its own. It’s excellent for managing diabetes, calcium absorption, and bone health. It also can help if you’re fatigued, relieve headaches, migraines, and anxiety.

Many people are magnesium deficient so supplementing your kratom dose with magnesium can be a great way to combat that.

However, you may want to avoid it if you suffer from diarrhea. It may also turn to be rather pricey if you take magnesium supplements.

Instead of taking magnesium pills, you can make a smoothie from magnesium-rich foods, for instance, leafy green vegetables, bananas, raspberries, figs, and avocados, and add kratom to it.

Taking regular Epsom salt baths is another way of exposing yourself to more magnesium.

    Conclusion

Just like kratom, all these are natural substances. Therefore, effects may slightly vary by person.

If you choose to take kratom potentiators, make sure you’ve taken kratom alone before it and know how exactly your body reacts to it. Don’t start by using both at the same time.

By doing so, you’ll have a better idea of what exactly what needs to be modified If you aren’t experiencing the desired results or not feeling well.

Make sure you check out the uses and side effects of each of the kratom potentiators to make sure you can take them. Talk to your physician if necessary.
