kratom pain relief

Kratom is becoming increasingly more popular, and people are taking it for a variety of reasons. Along with a variety of uses, there’s a growing interest in kratom pain relief.

Kratom is beneficial because there are alkaloids in kratom leaves that bind to our receptors. Then, these alkaloids create a chemical reaction similar to that of endorphin stimulation, thus providing relief and making us feel better.

The Chemistry Behind Kratom Pain Relief

Endorphins are a type of a hormone that binds with opioid receptors in our brains. As a result, we experience an analgesic effect.

Thus, endorphins are released in the body in response to a pain, to help us cope with it more easily.

The compounds found in kratom actually come in contact with opioid receptors in a different way.

If you take a regular opioid, such as morphine, it will lead to the release of beta-arrestin proteins. These proteins create a lot of the negative effects one experiences after taking a certain opioid.

But with kratom, the situation is different.

Kratom doesn’t lead to the release of beta-arrestin proteins. This means that you won’t experience the myriad of negative effects that you would after taking opioids.

Yet, since it binds with opioid receptors, you’ll be able to experience the benefits of kratom pain relief.

Best Strains of Kratom for Pain Relief

In order to get the best of kratom for pain relief, you really need to know which strains to take. Not all kratom strains are the same, which means that you will experience different effects after each of them.

Below are our top picks for strains of kratom for pain relief.

1. Borneo Kratom

Borneo is a very strong kratom strain, so you need to be extra careful when measuring the right dosage for it. But with its strength come its beneficial qualities.

Borneo is one of the most sedating kratom strains. It’s very good for reducing chronic pain, in muscles and joints, as well as for reducing stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

Borneo kratom comes in red and green vein, but, according to many users, the red vein is better when it comes to pain relief. It’s also very good for bringing you to a state of good mood, creating a feeling of slight euphoria.

In addition to this, it’s worth mentioning that many users also find Borneo kratom a better replacement for prescription sedatives. That’s because it gives the same results without the negative side-effects.

On the other hand, white-vein Borneo is also good for both pain-relief. In addition to that, it also provides stimulation.

2. Bali Kratom

There’s a reason why this kratom strain is one of the most popular out there. It’s because Bali is very good for treating chronic pain and providing stimulation. It is also very relaxing and helps with improving the sleep.

If you need to focus on pain relief, it’s best to go with the red vein.

3. Green Malay Kratom

Green Malay is one of the most sought-after strains of Malay kratom, and it’s very good for anxiety relief and pain relief.

What’s interesting is that this strain has a different alkaloid profile, making it last much longer than many other kratom strains.

However, if you are looking for stronger pain relief, you may want to look into red vein Malay. It can also help you relieve stress and anxiety and may even enhance your mood.

4. Maeng Da Kratom

All of the aforementioned strains are good for kratom pain relief, but a number of users refer to Maeng Da as probably the best.

It’s characterized by strong potency and the ability to treat chronic pain caused by all kinds of medical conditions, from arthritis to cancer, in some cases. And if consumed in higher doses, this strain will create strong sedative effects.

The Right Kratom Dosage for Pain Relief

When using kratom for any purpose, you should always take the right dose. Same goes for kratom pain relief.

First of all, you need to understand that every person is different – so the effects won’t be the same for everyone.

If you’re in severe pain, and it’s something acute, then you can take a stronger dose of kratom (6-8 grams). However, you have to be really careful here. It’s never a good idea to start on a high kratom dosage if you’re not sure you react well to a particular strain.

On the other hand, if the pain is not that strong, you can switch to using a smaller dosage on a regular basis (2-4 grams or 4-6 grams).

If you’re taling kratom in the morning and are willing to feel more enegized, take a smaller dose. However, a larger dose can be better in the evening if you’s like to wind down and relax in addition to experiencing kratom pain relief.

Therefore, you have to make sure that you can take in a certain strain without any problems, and then move on to kratom pain relief therapy. This is more complicated for people who are new to kratom, but it’s definitely the safest way.

How to Gauge the Right Kratom Dosage for Pain Relief?

You need to make sure your body can take in well.

But this is just one side of it. The correct dosage for your problem also depends on your overall health, your body weight, whether or not you consume alcohol, etc.

Once you take the first kratom dose, monitor your physical and mental state for the next hour. Some people think 45 minutes is more than enough, but we suggest you go with the full hour. If there are no side-effects, and you don’t feel any improvement after an hour, you may take some more (a gram or two).

But whatever you do, approach kratom pain relief slowly. Don’t rush into taking a lot right away. This way, you will only compromise your health. Taking it slow is definitely the best approach.

Conclusion

You can definitely benefit from kratom pain relief, but you need to take your time and test your body first. If you pay close attention to your physical and mental reactions and experience no major side-effects, then you can use kratom on a regular basis.

You don’t have to choose a strain immediately. Allow yourself the time and freedom to test out a couple of strains and see which one works for you best. That’s how you’ll get the best of kratom for pain relief.

I’ve found another that seems to be great for pain and sleep! It doesn’t give the euphoria or stimulation like other strains so I reserve it specifically for night time about and hour before bed. Super Bentuangie friends 🙂 if im looking for a little lift say to relax and watch a good movie, I’ll take 2 grams of a MD mixed with 5 grams of SB. This has been a lifesaver honestly. I suffer from nerve pain in my legs and without insurance or even wanting to be put back on strong nerve pain meds such as Lyrica I did a bit of digging. At first when I seen the mitragynine content was a low 0.5% I was really bummed to say the least. Did some more research and seen that when fermenting a SB half of the mit content is converted into 7-hydroxymitragynine which is awesome for it’s analgesic effects. Gave it a try and was NOT disappointed to say the least. Like I mentioned if it’s stimulation or energy you’re looking for SB is not it. But you can mix it and get the best of both worlds 🙂
